A certain little someone () is apparently writing a nice little set of novelettes of a fantasy nature and has a message for us all:
"Hi everyone at Fantasy Empire, (Thanks for adding me to this group!)
How are you all doing? First off, I'd like to say that I'm very sorry to bother you like this. I know it's never fun to be cold-called, and I appreciate you even reading to the end of this sentence. My name is Chris Lewis Carter, an author from Newfoundland, and I'd love just a moment of your time to quickly tell you about my kickstarter campaign for a new fantasy book series that I really think you'd enjoy.
The series, called, "Camp Myth," is about a summer camp for mythological creatures. The main character, a Fae named Felix, is tasked with earning the camp's fantastic merit badges, including such feats as Kraken Fishing, Cyclopean Archery, and Golem Building. I have a bunch of the artwork on my profile if you'd like to have a look.
You can check out the campaign here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/c…
I would love for you to have a look, and I was wondering - if you honestly like it, and feel that it's an idea worth funding - if you would consider posting about it on the page, or spreading the word to anyone you know who might be interested. I really believe that Camp Myth will be a series with positive values (race acceptance, friendship, teamwork) in a fun setting that both kids and adults could enjoy, if I just had a bump to get the ball rolling. After all, kickstarter is a tough market, but I'm dedicated to making this series work
Again, I realize how much it sucks to be hard-sold on something, but if Camp Myth speaks to you, and you feel like it deserves a place in the publishing world, I'd be eternally grateful for even the smallest amount of support. I can be contacted either here [at his DA account] or chrislewiscarter@gmail.com at any time to answer whatever questions you might have about the project. But if you're ultimately not interested, I completely understand.
Thanks so much for your time, and have a fantastic day,
-Chris Lewis Carter-"
and now for some finer details:
"WHAT IS CAMP MYTH?
Growing up, I was a huge fan of comics, and books like R.L. Stine's "Goosebumps." I love the idea of fresh monthly content to read and enjoy.
That's why, with the help of ebook publishing and readers like you, I want to create a new monthly serial that both kids and adults can look forward to.
Camp Myth is a summer camp built to teach young mythological creatures about the cultures and dangers of their amazing world. Minotaurs, Dryads, Merfolk, Centaurs – you name it! For six weeks, these children live and work together in order to earn merit badges and prove their worth to the mythic community.
But for Felix, a mischievous Fae with a knack for getting into trouble, camp means nothing more than a chance to break free from his overprotective parents and enjoy a few weeks without responsibilities. That is, until a series of accidents turn camp life upside-down, and some of the other campers start disappearing from the grounds.
Together with his cabin-mates, Argee – the world's only nerdy Cyclops – and Moxie – an orphaned Kitsune unable to control her shape-shifting powers, Felix will meet learn about mythological creatures, what it really means to grow up, and how friendship can transcend race and culture."
So go on, give it a look.

Gallery Changes!
Good day, fine folks!
It has come to my attention that once again we do not have enough "staff" to approve/reject deviations in a timely manner. Additionally, the role of "Co-Founder" has been removed (per the following changes) , and those who were in there (mostly inactive) have been moved to Contributors.

I am trying something a little bit different this time.
We have adopted a submission approval mentality for a number of reasons, but I am going to put this aside for a while and try something else.
Please see the changes below:

Group Revival!
Update: New Gallery Folders! I have added two new Fan Art Folders (Labeled "Art - Fan Art - [subcategory name]") to add deviations to! You may still add fan art to other folders (provided they fit the folder requirements) but this is a specialized place people can visit to see wonderful fan art! Enjoy!

Greetings!
I have updated gallery submissions (again) to hopefully allow the group to be a little more autonomous. I am really trying to find balance between keeping a high caliber of work in the group and having little to no help monitoring t
Submission Updates for Members and Admin
Hello All,
I have updated (and fixed) the submission process for both gallery and favorite submissions. Even with the added administrators, we are having trouble keeping up with the submissions, it appears. I personally am monitoring from afar as I complete my degree and move to the next chapter of my life. So, I have changed a few things to hopefully make the submission process a little easier for us and a little less frustrating for you lovely people!
